Magnex 2g Injection Magnex 2g is a broad-spectrum combination antibiotic containing Cefoperazone (a third-generation cephalosporin) and Sulbactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) in a 1:1 ratio. Cefoperazone acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis during active cell division, while Sulbactam irreversibly binds to and inactivates beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby preventing Cefoperazone degradation and extending its spectrum against beta-lactamase-producing organisms. It is indicated for treating serious bacterial infections, including lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone or joint infections.
