OCTAPLEX® (human prothrombin complex) is a prescription medicine used to treat or prevent bleeding in people with hemophilia B or factor IX deficiency.

Warnings

• Do not use OCTAPLEX if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.
• OCTAPLEX may cause serious blood clots. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have signs of a blood clot such as chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling in the legs, or sudden weakness on one side of the body.

Serious Side Effects

• Blood clots: Serious blood clots may occur. Seek medical help immediately if you have signs of a blood clot.
• Allergic reactions: Seek immediate medical help if you have swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; breathing or swallowing problems; severe rash; fainting; or very rapid heartbeat.

Common Side Effects

• Before using OCTAPLEX, your healthcare provider should show you how to use it properly.
• Discuss with your healthcare provider how to manage side effects such as headache and nausea.
