Azevac Cream 15% Azevac Cream contains Azelaic Acid, a naturally occurring saturated dicarboxylic acid with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and keratolytic properties. Azelaic acid acts by inhibiting the synthesis of cellular proteins in susceptible micro-organisms, notably Propionibacterium acnes (Cutibacterium acnes) and Staphylococcus epidermidis, reducing bacterial colonization within follicular units. Additionally, it normalizes epidermal keratinization, preventing the formation of microcomedones, and functions as a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase to decrease abnormal melanin production in hyperpigmented keratinocytes. Azevac Cream 15% w/w is indicated for the topical treatment of mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris and the management of inflammatory papules and pustules associated with rosacea.
