Casfung 70 Injection Casfung 70 contains Caspofungin Acetate, an intravenous echinocandin antifungal drug designed to target serious, invasive fungal pathogens. It acts by blocking (1,3)-D-glucan synthase, an enzyme crucial for building and maintaining the fungal cell wall. Inhibiting this enzyme weakens the structure of the fungal cell wall, leading to osmotic instability and fungal cell death. This higher 70 mg strength is typically administered as a loading dose on the first day of treatment for invasive candidiasis, refractory invasive aspergillosis, or empirical therapy in febrile neutropenic patients.
