Elaxim 40 Injection
Elaxim 40 Injection Elaxim 40 contains Tenecteplase, a genetically engineered recombinant tissue plasminogen activator. It works by selectively binding to the fibrin component of a thrombus (blood clot) and converting thrombus-bound plasminogen into active plasmin. Plasmin subsequently degrades the fibrin matrix of the clot, dissolving it and restoring blood flow through occluded vessels. It is indicated for the emergency management of acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) to reduce mortality and limit infarct size.
