Sofokast Tablets Sofokast contains Sofosbuvir, a nucleotide analogue prodrug that undergoes intracellular metabolism to form the pharmacologically active uridine analogue triphosphate (GS-461203). This active triphosphate metabolite acts as a chain terminator by incorporating into hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA via the NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby directly inhibiting viral replication across multiple genotypes. Sofokast is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adult and pediatric patients as a component of a combination antiviral regimen (pangenotypic efficacy when combined with other DAAs such as Velpatasvir, Ledipasvir, or Daclatasvir, with or without Ribavirin).
