Survanta 4ml Survanta contains Beractant, a natural bovine lung extract surfactant supplemented with dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine, palmitic acid, and tripalmitin. It lowers alveolar surface tension during respiration and stabilizes the alveoli against collapse at resting transpulmonary pressures. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment ("rescue") of Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) (hyaline membrane disease) in premature infants.
