Xeomin 50 mg Injection XEOMIN contains IncobotulinumtoxinA, a purified acetylcholine release inhibitor produced from fermentation of Clostridium botulinum type A. Free from complexing proteins (accessory proteins), incobotulinumtoxinA acts at the neuromuscular junction by binding presynaptically to high-affinity receptors on cholinergic nerve terminals. It is internalized via endocytosis and cleaves SNAP-25, a protein essential for the docking and fusion of acetylcholine vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. By preventing presynaptic release of acetylcholine into the synaptic cleft, it causes localized, reversible inhibition of neurotransmission, resulting in dose-dependent chemical denervation and muscle relaxation. XEOMIN is indicated for the treatment of cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, upper limb spasticity, chronic sialorrhea, and for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate-to-severe glabellar frown lines.
