TIGEBAX Injection TIGEBAX contains Tigecycline, a broad-spectrum glycylcycline antibiotic structurally related to tetracyclines. It acts by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis by blocking the incorporation of aminoacyl tRNA residues into the A site of the ribosome. It is indicated for the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSI), complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI), and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) caused by susceptible Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic pathogens, including resistant strains such as MRSA and VRE.
