Hyaxis 100 mg Injection HYAXIS contains Hydrocortisone Sodium Succinate, a water-soluble salt of the short-acting natural glucocorticoid hydrocortisone (cortisol). Hydrocortisone diffuse across cell membranes and binds with high affinity to specific cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors. The activated receptor complex translocates into the nucleus, binding to specific DNA elements (GREs) to regulate gene expression—inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha) and suppressing phospholipase A2 activity to reduce prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis. This produces broad anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and anti-allergic activity, while also regulating carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism. HYAXIS is indicated for the treatment of acute adrenocortical insufficiency, severe allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, severe status asthmaticus, septic shock, and inflammatory disorders requiring rapid systemic corticosteroid therapy.
