Mebenda 500mg Tablets

Mebenda 500mg Tablets MEBENDA 500MG contains Mebendazole, a synthetic broad-spectrum anthelmintic belonging to the benzimidazole class. It works by selectively binding to cytoplasmic tubulin in parasitic helminths, inhibiting microtubule assembly and causing disruption of intracellular transport systems. This blocks glucose uptake and essential nutrient transport, depleting glycogen stores and reducing ATP production required for parasite survival. The resultant metabolic starvation leads to slow death and complete clearance of the helminthes. MEBENDA 500MG is indicated as a high-dose, single-dose dewormer for mass treatment or heavy gastrointestinal infestations caused by Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale / Necator americanus (hookworm), and Trichuris trichiura (whipworm).
