Duovir-N Tablets Duovir-N is a fixed-dose triple-combination antiretroviral therapy containing two Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (Lamivudine and Zidovudine) and one Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (Nevirapine). Lamivudine and zidovudine are intracellularly phosphorylated to active triphosphates that incorporate into viral DNA, causing DNA chain termination. Nevirapine directly and non-competitively binds to HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, disrupting its catalytic domain. Together, these complementary pathways block viral RNA-dependent and DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activities, suppressing HIV-1 replication. It is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adult and pediatric patients.
