Lamivir HBV Tablets Lamivir HBV contains Lamivudine at a 100 mg dose, specifically formulated for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection in patients with evidence of active viral replication and liver inflammation. Lamivudine is an analogue of cytidine that undergoes intracellular phosphorylation to its active form, lamivudine 5'-triphosphate (3TC-TP). 3TC-TP inhibits viral DNA synthesis by competing with natural substrates for incorporation into HBV DNA polymerase (reverse transcriptase), causing DNA chain termination due to the absence of a 3'-hydroxyl group required for further elongation.
