EFAVIR 600 Tablets EFAVIR 600 contains Efavirenz, a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). It binds directly and non-competitively to HIV-1 reverse transcriptase at a site distinct from the active site, inducing a conformational change that disrupts the catalytic domain and inhibits viral RNA-dependent and DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity. It is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adult and pediatric patients.
