Trilavir E Tablets Trilavir E is a complete fixed-dose triple-combination regimen containing Efavirenz (a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor), Emtricitabine (a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor), and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor). Efavirenz non-competitively inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase by binding directly to the enzyme's active site and inducing a conformational change. Emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate undergo intracellular phosphorylation to their active forms, emtricitabine 5'-triphosphate and tenofovir diphosphate, which compete with natural substrates and integrate into viral DNA to induce chain termination. Indicated as a complete single-tablet daily regimen for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and pediatric patients weighing at least 40 kg.
