TENOLAM E Tablets TENOLAM E is a fixed-dose triple-combination antiretroviral regimen containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (an NtRTI), Lamivudine (an NRTI), and Efavirenz (an NNRTI). Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate and lamivudine undergo intracellular phosphorylation to active metabolites that compete with natural substrates and integrate into viral DNA, resulting in DNA chain termination. Efavirenz directly binds to HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and induces a conformational change that disrupts the catalytic site of the enzyme. Together, these agents inhibit viral reverse transcription and block HIV-1 replication. It is indicated as a complete single-tablet regimen for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents.
