APRAGEM Injection

APRAGEM Injection APRAGEM contains Gemcitabine, a nucleoside analogue of deoxycytidine with cytotoxic antineoplastic activity. Gemcitabine exhibits cell phase specificity, primarily killing cells undergoing DNA synthesis (S-phase) and blocking progression through the G1/S-phase boundary. Intracellularly, gemcitabine is metabolized by nucleoside kinases to active diphosphate (dFdCDP) and triphosphate (dFdCTP) nucleosides. Gemcitabine diphosphate inhibits ribonucleotide reductase, reducing the pool of intracellular deoxynucleoside triphosphates required for DNA synthesis. Gemcitabine triphosphate competes with deoxycytidine triphosphate for incorporation into DNA, resulting in masked chain termination that prevents DNA repair synthesis and triggers programmed cell death (apoptosis). APRAGEM is formulated as a Ready-To-Use (RTU) solution and is indicated for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), ovarian cancer, metastatic breast cancer, and urothelial/bladder cancer.
