Doxoma-L 20mg Injection Doxoma-L contains Doxorubicin Hydrochloride encapsulated in pegylated liposomes. It works by intercalating between DNA base pairs, inhibiting topoisomerase II enzyme activity, and producing free radicals that damage DNA, RNA, and cell membranes. The pegylated liposomal formulation protects the drug from detection by the reticuloendothelial system, prolonging circulation time and enhancing tumor targeting while reducing cardiotoxicity compared to conventional doxorubicin. It is indicated for treating metastatic ovarian cancer after failure of platinum-based chemotherapy, AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma, metastatic breast cancer in patients at cardiac risk, and multiple myeloma in combination with bortezomib.
